though he will be heavier.
Aunt Leah and Uncle Mike will be hosting
the blue-eyed baby boy
after he is weaned.
We'll give him some time at the farm
in a pen with Poco and Jaz,
to see if they all get along.
If so, when it's time to leave,
it will be no big deal for him
to hop into the trailer with his new BFFs.
While here, he will get the basics
on how to be a big boy:
P-A-T-I-E-N-C-E,
how to stand for being bathed,
groomed, clipped, etc.,
how to walk on a lead.
He's already had his first pedicure,
and I'm told he was perfect,
if a bit wobbly.
LOTS of experiences.
My goal for him is that everything is
just hunky-dory, no big deal,
it's all good.
ZERO ISSUES.
I expect Streak won't be the only one
to learn a lot from this visit.

That's great that you get to have that little cutie at your place for a while! How fun to work with a young horse... :-)
Very cute - and how fun!
Oh, look at him! Can't wait to see and hear lots more about Streak. This is going to be fun! :)
Those tipped ears are neat.
Messing with babies is fun. Megan and I really enjoy the time spent handling our babies and giving them a headstart on all the basics.
I'm in LURVE. What a cutiepatootie.
What a sweetie! When Isolde was born, I had no idea what it was like to care for young equines, but it's a very special experience!!!
What an adventure for you and for him. I look forward to reading more.
Question: So how it that Streak will stay pony size yet his Papa is so tall and huge!
Is his Dam small?
~Lisa
Lisa, Streak's dam is a sturdy Appaloosa mare chosen for her ability to carry a possibly large foal as well as her color. Streak can then be bred back to high percentage draft mares to refine the foals. Pretty fascinating stuff. I'm learning more than I ever though possible about draft crosses. They have the most wonderful personalities.
