Forsooth! SCA at Iron Ridge!

The SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism)

What are those people doing?
And why?

OMG, I used to be in the SCA. I have to say, it was a blast. But it got really political (ironically).

Too fun!

My sons were involved with the SCA. They never had an opportunity to do anything with horses. What a great day for the SCA participants!

May I take a guess that only a few of the "knights" have much horse-riding experience? >g<

I love the SCA. If I had another lifetime, I'd spend it with the SCA. We even have an equestrian-based SCA group locally, the Seattle Knights. They really *can* ride. Well, most of them.

I didn't write more about it because Heather had the explanation on her site. I was just a helper. I wrangled and groomed ponies, and helped some of the less (and zero) experienced riders. I must say, they were SO NICE and totally receptive when we told them to do something. I hope they come back. I enjoyed them. It was a lot of fun.

Oh, I sure miss the SCA! I used to be very, very involved for many years and was the equestrian "champion" for our barony for a couple of years. I sure miss it, but breathe is right, it got way more political and lost a lot of the "just for fun!" aspect. That's when I quit.
