En La Casa #2

Sign above the doors leading to our bedroom

Custom made, handcrafted cedar bed

01-22-09 The Lemonade Award was given to me by Lisa (cdncowgirl) over at NQHOTR. If I get the gist, it's for keeping a positive attitude — you know, "when life gives you lemons"? And you're supposed to nominate ten blogs, etc., etc. This award has been 'round the block, so to speak, so everyone I would nominate has already received it. I'll just say, if you see yourself in my blogroll, you are entitled to this award. I'm ready for my closeup, Mr. DeMille.

FYI -- if you have given me an award and wonder why I don't keep them in the permanent layout of my page, it's not for lack of appreciation, I assure you. I only leave them up for the length of the current post to keep my page from both becoming cluttered and from bogging down as it loads. I want it to load quickly, especially since I like to post lots of photos.

Hi there Miss Leah, Congratulations on your award. Very nice. I sure do appreciate your kind comments on my blog and enjoy reading yours as well.
You cracked me up the other day with your comment - "are you really that short or he is just that big?". hah hee hee ho, yep you cracked me up!! And in response, I am that short!! I'm 5'3" and usually have to use something to help me mount my horse. However, Harley is the small one. He's about 15.3 hh, if you think I look short with him, you should check out me riding Ladde - he's 17 hh and makes Harley look like a pony!! I have to admit, I look like a kid when I ride Ladde. I do appreciate your honesty!! Lovely bed and quilt by the way.

Yes very pretty bed! Sigh...

I would have to have a real bed someday. All we have is a lonely frame.

Thanks so much for stopping by my new blog! I really hope to be able to find a few horse/writing to help keep me going...

Mr. Fry and I were on a Sunday drive one time and came across a sign at the gate of a house that sat way off the road. It said something like "Handmade Cedar Furniture For Sale." It was a cowgirl in every sense. She was obviously into horses, tuff and leathered. She and her husband basically took trees and made that bed. She had strong hands and arms from using those wood shaving tools to smooth it. We like it a lot.

Congrats on the award. I know what you mean about the awards, too.
I actually created a separate blog, just to house my awards. lol!

That bed is really lovely. I like how the cedar is ort of twisted and braided looking at the footboard.
So, when you are you coming to New Mexico to help me decorate my bedroom. It's a blank slate with white walls right now. :P
