Baby D's First Walkabout

 Concerned nannies.
Where are you taking our baby?

 One of many hesitations.
We didn't go too far,
maybe 1/8 - 1/4 mi.
before he began to get anxious.
I coaxed him forward another
dozen or so steps for the win,
then we turned around.

Daltrey, this is the Honey Hole.
It's what awaits you at the end of a walkabout.
If you're a good boy, that is.

And so it begins.

Wonderful fun - I LOVE working with the babies!!! On the day he was 4 months old, I led Ladde in a parade...he had a blast!!! He was also fearless and had as much fun as anyone else in attendance that day!! I'll never forget that, and after we were finished, we joined the crowds on the sidewalk and watched the rest of the parade. Ladde even got some candy. Thanks for the memory and have fun with that colt!!

That sounds pretty good to me. I usually can't get out the gate before the nervousness sets in with whoever is on the end of the lead rope and whoever is left behind.

So sweet! I still remember how hard it was to get Isolde to move forward on her own (until we discovered the power of sugar cubes!) and how easy it was with Kalahari. They all have their own journey! Daltrey looks like he was really proud of his outing!

AWW YAY for his first walkabout!!! That is some of the greatest foundation for their learning! My first 2 babies that I raised were my best ever because I had SO much time for doing just the core things like going on walkabouts!

Gosh- you've still got grass? Good job on the little walkabout- Baby D.

We don't have grass. That's an empty property across the road.
