The Road to Whitesboro

Thanks to all who have inquired as to my wellbeing after my header off Poco last Tuesday. Because it only hurt when I walked, I was too stupid to stay off last weekend, and I'm paying for that mistake. My hip is deeply bruised, and I now understand I need to give it plenty of time to heal completely. I won't even do ground work with the horses, since I don't need to walk any more than necessary. I work on a huge corporate campus, so there's a lot of walking. I'm grateful I wasn't hurt worse.

I tell people who ask why I'm limping that it's an old rodeo injury.

I cleaned all tack out of my truck, cleaned and conditioned everything, and put it all away here at home for awhile.

Here are some photos I took on the way to Heather's recently.

Hope y'all are having a good week, and don't forget to smooch your ponies.

I hope your hip feels better soon - sorry to hear you took a fall. I think I missed that post...

Love the pictures of the cactus with the flowers - very neat.

Oh man!! I missed that post too! I'm glad you are up and walking. Falling off is never ever fun, even more so when you can barely move for a week. After I fell off about 2 weeks ago, I know my arms were killing me too. Hubby needs to give you LOTS of massages :)) That worked for me. That and 1/2 a bottle of tylenol. lol Those flowers are absolutely gorgeous!

Pirty flowers. That's one thing about having to take it easy due to injury - you have more time to enjoy the flowers. I think I'm getting sympathy pains for you. My hip felt like it was swollen and aching while reading this. I felt it in my right hip. Which side were you hurt on?

I love those flower cactus pictures Leah
Hey, get some Arnica Montana, it is amazing for internal bruising, I'm sold since deeply damaging my hip a few months ago, two days of taking it I was healed, it totally beats painkillers, which simply kill the pain, no small thing, but the Arnica heals from the inside out.

Beautiful flowers.

I hope you feel better soon! It's hard when you're limited from moving around, I went stir-crazy this summer with the broken ankle.

Lots of rest and ibuprofen :)

Take care of yourself! I had a lol at your "old rodeo injury"... at least a horse story is better than my usual, "I ran into the corner of the kitchen island... or fridge....or wall...I run in to things a lot!"

It does take time to heal, unfortunately:( But before you know it, you will be back in the saddle!

I must've missed the story about your fall. (weird because I almost always read your blog daily, maybe it happened during one of my absences??)
Hope you heal up soon, but don't push yourself too hard.

Those flowers are gorgeous, I especially like the ones after the yellow cactusy one
(heh heh I'm such a prairie girl!)

I can't believe ALL y'all missed that post! It's called "Not a Matter of If But When", with guest blogger Heather, an eye witness to my ungraceful dismount.
