Christmas Denouement

The snow was pretty while it lasted.
Now it's more of a PITA than anything else.
It melts during the day,
which means this place is a mud bog.
Then it freezes again at night,
making roads and footpaths dangerous.

Needless to say, it's too muddy
to do much of anything
with the horses.
Even feeding them just makes
things more of a mess.

The weather was bad for 2 solid days and nights,
which meant the horses didn't get much rest.
They're making up for it now,
taking turns napping in the sun.

And look at the great Christmas gifts I/we got.
Nita, Heather & clan got us mugs with
photos of the horses on them.
My sister-in-law got me a stethoscope
and a digital thermometer.
Cool, huh?

I know lots of people will be out there
hunting up bargains this weekend.
I have no money, so
y'all can have my share.
I'm staying home and staying warm.

Okay, you know you're a horse person when you are thrilled to get a stethoscope and a digi thermometer...and when you immediately assume that they are meant to be used on your horses!

Also, gotta share what one of my favorite vet told me:
"You know the difference between a horse thermometer and a human thermometer, right? Flavor."

I hope you had a very Merry Christmas! Money was tight here too. I left my share at the store for everyone else too ;)

Hi Leah, it's Pony Girl! I'm on Paint Girl's computer and she's logged onto blogger as herself, so I'm stealing her identity, LOL! I hope you had a merry holiday, love the festive header! The photo mugs are so cool, that would've been a great idea for my mom, she lives with her coffee mug and would love one personalized! Where did they get them?

The outlet mall was packed - so they are taking you up on the offer!

I gotta believe there's a story behind getting a stethoscope for Christmas...

PG, I'll find out for you.

Breathe, when Jaz colicked and they asked about gut sounds, all I could do was put my ear against him. When SIL (my family exchanges names and she had mine) asked if there was anything I wanted, I said, "You're going to laugh, but..."
