Saturday Stroll

A moment of silence for my old
$10 plastic Payless boots
that belonged to my son when he was 10 years old.
He'll be 25 this year.

I think I got my $10 worth, don't you?

Ta-daaaaa!
They are so comfortable.
Steel toes.
Jaz stepped on me once
and I've been stepped on multiple times
by babies at the farm.

It was a lovely day to
give those ponies a run for their money.
Look at that dirty lil grey horse.
I'll bet it took me 45 minutes to clean him up
so I could saddle him.

Lathering himself up once again.

And then it was his turn.
Love the rockstar mane.

I walked him down the road
a short distance
before getting on.
A lady jogged by and said,
"Shouldn't you be on him?"

I said,
"If you knew this horse,
you'd know that I'm right
where I should be."

He wasn't too bad,
but I really had to hold him back.
He wanted to go a lot faster
than I did.

The other one stayed behind and hollered.

After that, I headed up to the farm to see
the horses that arrived from New York this week.
Didn't take pictures because
they were both muddy messes.

Then headed to Gainesville
for groceries.

And this was the view from the driveway
by the time I got home.

I'm whupped.
A couple Coronas
and I'm calling it a day.

So, is it Spring there yet?

Wow beautiful! I love that you wore 10$ boots for 15 years! They still looked good! You should send them to PayLess. Maybe you could make your own ad? :) With ponies of course!!

Check out Lytha's latest post — Poco's mane looks like the Icelandic in one of her photos.

Congrats on the new boots...but I betcha you'll still sneak a walk in the old Payless one from time to time. Old Habits die hard. hehe!
I still like to wear my old Walmart paddock boots, too. My new Ariats are just a tad too big for me and I've got a blister on my heel now. bleh.

Good for you getting out to do a little jaunt up the road. You've got a nice wide green berm to ride down, too.
I love Poco's wild mane!

Drink a Corona for me, too!

Acknowledging my tendency toward sentimental attachments, I actually did a mock rendition of taps as I put them in the garbage with the kitty litter. I won't be strolling in the old boots again.

ROFL!!!! "If you knew this horse then you would know I'm right where I should be!" HAHAHAHAHA! That reminds me of the day I tried to ride J. down the highway and he decided to do a 360 practically in front of an oncoming truck!! Dummy.... I got off to get to my friend's house, for SURE! Unfortunately, I felt like I let him get the upper hand that day, BUT what are you supposed to do with a road and the slowest vehicle going by at 70-80 mph?

Leah..I envy your weather!

See that you have been following Esther. Things are getting even crazier.

10 bucks!? Wow, yeah, you got your $ worth. And they look like they have a few miles left on em.

I love taking my horses for a walk on the lead line. Good for both of us. One time while walking my mare on a park trail I got some odd looks from a couple dog walkers. I just smiled and said, "I'm walking my dog too."
